Here is a famous pyramid that is located in Louvre Palace in Paris, France.
The height is 27.8 m and base is 35m.
The area of the base is (35)(35) = 1225m
The volume formula is (1/3)(area of the base)(height)
V = (1/3)(1225)(27.8)
V = 11,351.67m
Facts:
1. The large pyramid serves as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum.
2. It was completed in 1989.
3. The pyramid and the underground lobby beneath it were created because of a series of problems with the Louvre's original main entrance, which could no longer handle the enormous number of visitors on an everyday basis.

Example of Assignment 1
My 3 shapes are a cube, a rectangular prism and a pyramid.
A cube's face is a square.
Area of a square is S x S.
If the sides are 5cm and 5 cm what is the area?
A rectangular prism's face is a rectangle.
Area of a rectangle is L x W.
If the length is 3cm and the width is 5 cm what is the area?
A pyramid's face is a rectangle.
Area of a rectangle is L x W.
If the length is 6cm and the width is 2 cm the area is 12cm squared.
Area is similar to volume because area is the size of a surface and the volume is the amount of space a object takes up. They both deal with the same shapes, but area is the 2-D shape and volume is 3-D. The 2-D shapes make up the 3-D.
